These Cats Double Up In Size Every Winter!

After R-rated content, cats have to be the biggest thing on the internet. Even from its humble beginnings we are constantly bombarded with images of cats.

We have even had a few famous cats along the way like the famous grumpy cat and his cynical memes as well as a host of other feline features. We see cute kittens sleeping, playing, dancing, you name it. And that’s just the photographs; there are a gazillion cute cat videos as well. Not sure where the fascination comes from but yes, many of them are adorable and give us a break from the bad news on line or even the work we are supposed to be doing.

In the latest in this internet cat frenzy, we get to meet Alla Lebedev and her adorable Siberian cats that absolutely love the snow. I am not sure about you but I do not particularly enjoy the snow. Put me in front of a fire with a good book and perhaps a glass of wine and I am happy. Alla’s cats on the other hand just love playing in the snow, it is their favourite time of year.

While most animals are also content to keep warm indoors, these fluffy little guys can not get enough of the snow. Alla and her feline friends live in rural Russia and we all know how cold it gets there, I mean, have you seen the hats the guys wear to keep warm. Fortunately for these guys, Siberian cats have a clever insulation method and have a warm coat consisting of three layers of fur. As an added bonus the fur is resistant to water.

This keeps them dry and warm making hours of play in the freezing snow no issue at all. They are a prized breed in Russia and are considered a national treasure. I am sure Alla would agree. In 1990, the breed was first introduced to America. They are actually amazing cats with great strength, agility and balance, much like their Russian Olympic counterparts. Alla was kind enough to share the delightful images on Imgur! And the pictures really tell the true story.
