A pregnant dog, later named Nora, was one of several dogs rescued from appalling conditions, living in the dirty cages of a backyard breeder in Manitoba, Canada.

The 10 months old dog was filthy, emaciated and frightened by everything. At the time the dogs were rescued by an animal rescue outfit called Funds For Furry Friends, she was just about to have her litter. This all took place back in 2008.

Nora had spent her whole, sad life in the horrific cage. Just two days after her rescue, she gave birth to her litter of adorable puppies, now safe and clean in the animal shelter. As soon as the puppies were old enough, they and mother Nora were all put up for adoption.

Although still extremely timid and in need of a lot of love and patience, she was soon spotted by the Spence family who were immediately taken with her and adopted her into their loving home. It was love at first sight. Elizabeth Spence told reporters that Nora has been a wonderful dog, always gentle and kind.

The family also has three cats in the house and shortly after bringing Nora home, soon added a baby to the mix. Elizabeth and her husband now have three children and Nora adores them all. She has a particularly special bond with Elizabeth’s son, Archie.

The family that adopted one of Nora’s puppies found they could no longer look after the puppy so they asked the Spence’s if they would take care of the dog. Elizabeth suggested that they meet first but the minute Nora laid eyes on her daughter, Remi, it was clear it had to be done.

Mother and daughter hit it off immediately and played and rolled around in a display of pure love. Elizabeth has managed to get a number of really heart-warming, adorable pictures of the dogs as well as her own babies as they all shared moments together growing up.

Elizabeth, said: ‘I thought it would be fun to document and share these daily love fests to show how awesome rescue dogs are. ‘The majority of people are overwhelmed by the evident love shared between them and are thrilled and moved to see it. ‘The occasional few express concern but are generally appeased when assured that the dogs and baby are never left sleeping together unattended.’
