Dog Rescued From Near Death Makes An Incredible Transformation!

We live in a harsh and unforgiving world, where darkness lives in us all. Sometimes, however, the darkness outweighs the light and in this case, they didn’t even have a heart.

William is a beautiful Greyhound-Saluki who was abandoned on the side of road weighing a measly 6.5lbs, left to fend for itself. This story, however, does have a happy ending; William was rescued by Royal Society or the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) he was relocated and was adopted by Rachel Butler. The emaciated and timid puppy was cared for, loved and fed for 18 months, slowly nursing him back to health.

Now this once thin greyhound-Saluki has gained a full 24lbs and has been returned to rude health. Rachel and her then- fiancé even included their beautiful dog in their wedding. William was dressed to the nines; sporting a smart sweater, a tweed collar and to finish it all off a snazzy bow tie that nearly stole the show!

Rachel told reporters ‘When he was brought into the RSPCA’s care he was close to death. But on our wedding day his tail did not stop wagging. Having William at the ceremony made us both feel so proud at how far he has come’. The couple already had Harry, their west-highland terrier, who gets along swimmingly with William. They live happily with their pet pals in Derby.

RSPCA has noted the change in William’s appearance and attitude; ‘He is the thinnest dog I have seen in the 10 years I have been an inspector. You can see every bone in his body’ another said ‘He looks like a walking skeleton.’ After proper veterinary care, as well as emotional care from Rachel who nursed him back to a healthy level William is one of the lucky survivors of what is not uncommon in the world.

Every year, every month, every day around the world animals are abused, animals are neglected and animals are abandoned it’s a sad truth that can’t and shouldn’t be ignored. William survived but not all victims do. William was the skinniest dog they have ever seen… what about the ones they haven’t seen? Just how skinny are they?
